Nepal is a monarchal democratic state having a king as their “figure” leader. He does not, however, have much power. The prime minister, who is an elected executive, is the official head of state with most of the power. The prime minister is chosen by the party who has the majority in the election. Like the United States, Nepal has a multiparty system. One representative from each of the 205 election areas stands for the election. One wins. Nepal also has two major parties: the Nepali Congress and the United Communist Party, along with several other small parties. |
