Preface

The International Student Organization (ISO) at Southwest State University is a great place to meet people from other countries. People come from as far as India, Kenya, Malaysia and Japan. Each of their home countries have their own way of life, and they bring as much of that with them as they can carry.

As a student at Southwest State, I learned the most about Nepal from a good friend of mine, Prabesh. He and I taught each other so much. I tought him about American freedom and fun. He taught me about Nepal's societal status, government, religion and celebrations.

Nepal is an independent country just north of India and south of China. The population is approximately 26 million. It is one of the poorer countries in this world.

The main attractions in this country are Mt. Everest, Swayambhunath, Kathmandu (the capital of Nepal) and other towns in the valley.
