A professor of literature at Kenyatta university in Kenya has also contributed alot in the literature scene with his plays A Man of Kafira, Muntu and Betrayal in The City, Burning Rugs and Aminata. Aminata is a modern professional woman who is married a very supportive husband. But together they have to deal with the societies steroetypes of the modern independent women. Her status as a highly educated lawyer is not only a threat to the men but also other women. I liked Betrayal in The City most. A set book for my 12th grade final exam. The play is about Jasper a young university student who cannot continue with his studies because he has questioned the system. There is political assassinations and Juspers brother is one of them. He ends up in the same cell with one of his professors who is later murdered for the same reason. While in prison he is asked to present a play for the visiting head of state. He takes the opportunity to stage a coup which was very successful.
