Starting College Traditions

Home

Dictionary.com describes a tradition "as the passing down of elements of culture from generation to generation, especially by oral communication."

This site will explain how you can better stretch this definition of tradition to better meet your needs as a college student. Living in the dorms is a once in a lifetime type thing so the "generation to generation" part might not actually apply. However, in living in the dorms there are always an abundence of friends rather than money or time. Traditions and rituals help people to feel at home in the dorm and build relationships while having fun. Traditions don't need to make sense, in fact the more nonsensical the better.

This site will give general advice about friends, money, stress and ways that you can start your own traditions.
