You want to be a writer. You are taking classes to hone your skills. Now you would like to see some of your work published...
The Department of English at BSU provides several opportunities for students to have their work published. Students can also be active in editing and selecting work for publication. Each publication offers information on submission dates and guidelines.
Blogs and Wikis
The 'New Writing' is online writing: designing web sites, writing weblogs, and creating and managing wikis.
Dust and Fire
Accepts prose, poetry, and art from women who are Minnesota residents and who are emerging and practicing writers and artists. Several awards are available.
New Voices
Open to Minnesota high school students who want an audience for their writing. Fiction and poetry are accepted.
Rivers Meeting Project
Open to BSU students. Rivers Meeting is an annual literary publication produced by BFA students in the Department of English at Bemidji State University. Its primary goal is to capture and share the quality and creativity of students at BSU. Looking for outstanding original work, whether it be fiction, poetry, paint, pencil, pen, or another easily printable fine art.
Fire Ring Voices
A journal of men's writing and art published annually at Bemidji State University. Fire Ring Voices publishes the work of new and established male writers and artists from Minnesota and the surrounding areas, and welcomes submissions covering a wide array of issues and topics related to the male experience.
