Graduation Plans
Graduation! You've been working towards this day, hoping you will make it, and your family is in the wings with a long list of people to invite to your graduation ceremony or to the party at their home.
But before you don that cap and gown, make sure your 'ducks are all in a row'!
Grad plans are filed at the Records Office, which enables the student to file for graduation upon completion of the appropriate classes. As soon as the paperwork is filed and accepted, advisor codes are no longer necessary. If the students deviates from the grad plans, then he/she must turn in a change request form to the Records Office.
How and when will I know if my grad plans are approved?
Once you have submitted your grad plans to the Records Office, the process can take approximately 1-3 months for them to be reviewed. They are first sent to the department(s) for approval, then they are reviewed by the Records Office to make sure all graduation requirements are met.
It is recommended that Grad Plans be turned in two (2) semesters prior to expected graduation in case deficiencies are found.
Now, when you have completed all the requirements, order your cap and gown, have your picture taken, and thank your family for their support and encouragement! You are on your way!
