Earning a BA or BS in EnglishThere are several tasks that need to be completed in order to earn either a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science. You're going to want to consider each of these items separately. Course Work
It is useful to go over all of these requirements with your advisor and carefully plan your route through the coursework so you won't find yourself scrambing in your last year to fit everything in. The key is to pace yourself. Senior ProjectYour senior project is sort of a culmination of everything that you've learned throughout your time in the program. It's worth three credits and you'll want to get to it at least two semesters before you graduate. Decide on a topic, whether it be a research paper, project or a creative work, and select an adivsor for the project. Work out the details of the project with your advisor and be sure to check in with your advisor periodically. They will help you work through problems and review your paper for revision and eventually grade your project. The main thing is not to put it off till the last minute. There will be numerous opportunities for revision if you stay on top of it. Grad PlansYou file your Graduation Planning Forms at the Records Office, which lets you apply for graduation as soon as you're done with your course work and senior project. As soon as the paperwork is filed and accepted, you no longer need advisor access codes. If you deviate from your grad plans, then you must turn in a change request form to the Records Office. |
