no commercial potentialI've added Google ads to the Daybook - mainly out of curiosity. I wanted to see what ads would appear and to get a sense of how Google AdSense works. I can't keep any money ads on this site might generate, so I'm looking into starting a book fund for the course or (when the big dollars come flowing in!) a scholarship fund.
Watch this space. Post No Bills.

No, wait, I'm in, how sweet, but under one of my five legal
a.k.a.'s. I'm no longer loud, but humphrey. Renee Humphrey. I recently
married myself and took on my own name again. I am a graduate student on academic probation at my fair University. I am on probation for several "I's" incurred during the time leading up to my recent name-changing marriage. My goal is to eliminate these "I's" and return to my studies Fall 2006, having by that time had one year off from University, to take a break, regroup and become familiar with my new self under my old name.
Should I feel guilty about not using many links in my blog anymore? Links used to be my trademark. Now, I write longer posts, with less linking. Linking takes time, I have less time. Rotten excuse. Maybe, linking used to be a fun novelty, now it is work. But why write in a hypertext venue without the
hypertext? I write knowing I'll be read, do readers really click on those
links? Maybe my blogging is evolving. Still, though, I must say, writing on a blog is an outward experience, an experience that takes me out of myself and this is a great contrast to my experience with paper-and-pen journaling, which kept me inside myself, spiraling down and in, instead of exploring out and finding links to my thoughts in the cyberworld.

I'm out, I'm discontinued.

I'm officially a "continuing emeritus"...that feels good. Over a year and still blogging. The new round of Blogs and Wikis students will quickly realize what a powerful medium it is.
I'll certainly be watching.

Waking up the DaybookI've started to update the Daybook for next semester. I've added an rss feed, moved some things around, will be adding some new links.
