I don't know if This is what you're looking for regarding the project reflection, but you're welcome to it. Wakey Wakey: Monday Monday It's time to meet again f2 face bright and early (10:00 - 10:50 in case you forgot) starting tomorrow, Monday, April 26. I'll talk about this tomorrow, but now that studio tours 2 are in, you should start your Project Presentation and Writeup. You can sign up for a day on this page, but you better hurry: the last slots will go fast and you may have to present earlier than you think. See you tomorrow. Saturday, April 24
Done. Don't talk to me about it. I don't want to talk about it. Its done, it should go away and never touch the light of day again. Ok, I didn't post the link until now, but one can CLEARLY see that on the page, it was last edited last night at 11. Well before dawn, buddies! Friday, April 23
I wish cutting links in blogger was as easy as it is in the wiki. Let's see if I remember how... supper's ready. Baked it myself- mushroom manicotti. Actually I think I might make that on Monday. Sounds good. mmmm Thursday, April 22
Wednesday, April 21
Dinner for Erin, Desiree, and Lindsi, but the rest of you are invited to partake, as well. P.S. I realized Tammi and I were touring the same three blogs halfway through my studio tour, but I attempted to ignore the fact and continued. Between the two of us, those three ladies have quite a bit to read through! :) Presentations and Project Write Ups We're back face to face on Monday, April 24. Two brave colleagues will be making their project presentations that morning, and I'll be taking requests for scheduling everyone else to present the Wednesday and Friday of that week, the week of May 3rd, and on our finals meeting. [Form a line, please. Don't all rush at once.] The assignment for your presentation and final write up is on the wiki. I'll talk about it in a little more detail on Monday, but if you start thinking about it now, you give yourself more opportunity to learn. P.S.: Keep those studio tours coming, and never do the silly thing I did. Tuesday, April 20
Monday, April 19
Salad, soup and dinner will be served shortly but do enjoy... Appetizers and pre-dinner cocktails now being served in this dining room. Dessert will follow the main course. Sunday, April 18
Tammi: I loved Home on the Range. It would have been even better if I were six, but still.. The cow-hypnotizing yodeling was amazing... Saturday, April 17
it's entirely possible that there is something wrong with the blogspot business...which you won't see on the daybook or on blogs not hosted by blogger. I'm guessing that's what it is anyways... Yes, that feminazi site was quite hard to stomach. Morbid curiosity lead me to it, but I can't link to it either. Where would you even start on a piece like that? And Simon and Barb and my friends from St. Cloud said that they can't seem to see my most recent postings, either. What's wrong there? Friday, April 16
Responding to Birkerts: done All the responses should be back to you by now. Your responses were strong - best so far - and got me thinking - and I saw a lot of varied strategies for working with Birkerts's ideas. I'm impressed. As promised: StudioTour2 We're coming down to the wire. We start meeting face to face again on Monday, 26 April. So, to get ready for your presentation, it's time to get some feedback on your project from your colleagues. The assignment StudioTour2 is due next Saturday, 24 April, dawn so that those who will be presenting on Monday will have time to read and reflect. I'll talk with a few volunteers face to face about presenting Monday, 26 April and Wednesday, 28 April. (If you'd like to present Weds, 28 April, or Friday, 30 April, email me.) You might want to have an early look at the details on your presentation and write-up to help you get started thinking about it. Have fun visiting. Wednesday, April 14
Thanks Barb! yeah, I don't know why my server and BSU's don't sync up, that's odd. I talked to Russ today, and it is an interesting proposition. We'll see about the GA in publishing first...*fingers crossed* This is for Froyd. Tried to email you and it came back. If interested in a Grad Asst for Professional Development (kind of computer based) see Russ Lee TODAY to apply. Barb Monday, April 12
Up to 691 infected files on my computer and it's still going.. I'm running a Trendmicro scanner dealie. We'll see what happens. I'll let you know. Thanks. Erin: Is our number busy, or what? Anyway, it doesn't really matter. Just post a note to the daybook or tag me on my personal blog if you are (or aren't) able to run everything sucessfully, and I'll close out your incident in our system. Thanks, darlin' :) Oh, and here's what my boss said to do when it's done: Brandon Odegard: have them make sure the date is updated and run a full scan Brandon Odegard: then if it does find something else, that can't be cleaned they should download the tool If you don't have Norton AntiVirus, you can do a free online virus scan here. Lindsi, thank you. I kind of thought something has been funny wiht my computer lately. I got to the 'install now' part, and it seems to be installing itself, but then there are no instructions or anything after. I also can't get ahold of computer support. I'll try again later, but any tips or hints would help. My number is 333-7779 if you need to give me a call. Again, thank you. Erin! Sorry to post this on the daybook, but I always get scared people have high security junk mail filtering on their email accounts, and this is kind of an important message... I'm actually working at Computer Support right now... our network manager gave us a list of students that have viruses on their computers, and your name was on the list!! Here's what to do: 1. Open Internet Explorer 2. In the webaddress bar, type " //updates/reshalls/ " 3. When the page comes up, click the "Install Now" button 4. Follow the instructions, and it should take it off your computer! Then please give us a call down here at 755-3777... you can talk to anyone, and just let them know whether or not you were able to run the program successfully. Thanks!! Sunday, April 11
Don't feel bad. I did the exact same thing... I'm always posting stuff to my personal blog that I want to go onto the Daybook. And vice versa... Did it twice last night, as a matter of fact. And I even sent an e-mail that was supposed to go to mcmorgan to mmorgan... Poor mmorgan must be so confused... blogger slowdown? Some have found that Blogger slowed down last night, delaying posting a link to your response. I appreciate that you tried again this morning, and some of you emailed me the link. RecentChanges on the wiki help me find the responses, too. I've read and responded to five so far - and they are good: strong in ideas, close in reading, insightful in construction. But who would have thought otherwise at this point in the semester? Waiting excitedly for the rest - Well it is finally posted. I have been trying to do this since midnight and I ended up posting in the wrong place. Ever since I came to America I'm not sure I know what dawn means any more. Back in Africa the sun rises at around 5.30am and sets at around 6.30pm ALL YEAR ROUND. Due to this total confusion I have found my self in, here is my work. Can't wait for something that makes no sense to me. I'm having problems posting onto my blog... When I go to publish my postings I keep running out of time? Anybody else having this problem? Know what's going on? Or is it just me? Saturday, April 10
Okay, so I had to deal with two crazy friends goofing around while I was writing this, but I'm fairly certain it is coherent. Oh, is anyone else having problems with Blogger timing out? That was exhausting. Note to self: Conversational prose is appealing to audiences. Insanely extensive vocabularies induce headaches and nausea. Responding to Birkerts sunrise Tammi wrote - "According to this website calendar, we have until approximately 6:47 a.m. to hand in our assignment on Sunday.(Right?)" The website calendar for April 11 gave me the results of Sun Rise: 6:38am Sun Set: 8:02pm Moon Rise: 3:09am Moon Set: 10:50am Last Qtr: 9:47pm but for you, Tammi, I'll round that up to 7:00 am. Friday, April 9
Somehow, I think you will survive this blow to your reputation and in the end come out for the better. Just to Clarify:: You (Dr. Morgan) said: "Responses are due at dawn, next Sunday, April 11. I'll start reading and responding to them Sunday morning." So... According to this website calendar, we have until approximately 6:47 a.m. to hand in our assignment on Sunday.(Right?) SEAN! My 'chiluns' Thank You for saving their butts this afternoon. I have to admit that I do take advantage of their PDA capabilities (especially the dd). Thank you for giving me your copy of the reading so I didn't have to schlep up the 3 flights... awful 'Christian' of you. Thursday, April 8
reminder Kudos to Jamie Munt for being first on the block to complete Responding to Birkerts (even while she was reviewing Gothika for her blog project.) You'll need to pick up a copy of the extracts I've selected from Birkerts's book The Gutenberg Elegies from my office before 6:00 pm on Friday. Hagg-Sauer is closed on Saturday, and the response is due Sunday at dawn. tick tock Wednesday, April 7
Sunday, April 4
assignment: responding to birkerts I've had an enjoyable time over the last week reading midterm reflections and perusing wiki and blog projects. The projects all seem to be going well. It's sunny, it's Sunday, it's not quite warm but can't complain, so let me throw a wrench in the works with a reading and response: Responding to Birkerts. The reading from his book The Gutenberg Elegies is not available on line; you'll need to pick up a copy from my office bright and early Monday morning. (To be accurate: Someone has put some extracts of the chapters on line, but they aren't complete. Try googling Birkerts to see what you can find out about him.) Responses are due at dawn, next Sunday, April 11. I'll start reading and responding to them Sunday morning. other news The photographs of the CCCC conference and San Antonio came back from the digitizer's and are posted - along with a link to the presentation - here. Thursday, April 1
right after you put the address, say like http://www.froyd.net/" right after that put a target=_blank and then close it off with the > HMMMM...... I think about heavy chains when I get bored... Oh, pardon me...could someone please inform me/us how to make the links we have (on the sidebar and internal) open a new window? I know those who are maintaining last year's blogs can do it, and I would like to know how. Thank you. coming up... Ok, I'm back in town. I'm responding to midterm reflections (really good observations and considerations), I'm updating my blog more often, and I'm getting ready to post - as promised - a reading and response for the Blogs and Wikis course. Watch for it here by Sunday evening. If your blog is dragging and you need something to reinvigorate yourself, you might want to consider Lindsi's advice to change your template. Blogger has some, but there are others on the web. Be a little careful if you change your template so you don't loose postings. Me, I rearrange the furniture when I get bored. |
