Purpose of this site
- Easy access to Ayleanna's information
- Get to know the person behind my character, Ayleanna.
- Find me in game by knowing where to look.
- Share pictures with my friends on-line.
- Show how I have developed as an HTML writer.
- Give my friends a place to come seek out information on my skills as
a jewelry maker, since I am asked so many times of how much is what
and how to make certain things. This way, they can go to my 'skills'
section and find the information themselves.
- A place for people that don't know me form my posts on message
boards to go and find information on me, and find my guild site and
know how to get a hold of me for help.

Designs to meet that purpose
- A stationary menu bar along the left. Clear and concise links to
each section of the site, so they know where they are going.
- Personal information about myself that can give more insight to who
I am.
- Give a list of all my characters that I am liable to play on
Everquest, so my friends can always find me.
- I have two sections to share pictures with my friends. I have one
for my Everquest pictures that I take as I venture through the lands
and another section for real life pictures that I would like others to
see.
- Under my 'links' section I have a spot designated for all the other
websites I have designed, showing the most recent at the top, down to
the very first one I ever made.

Decisions I made
- I went with a left side menu bar, so that I would not have to go to
each and every individual page to add another section.
- I designed a background that I thought fit well with the context I
was putting to this site.
- I also Drew up many different kinds of designs I could add to make
the site more decorative, but decided to go with a cleaner look and
stick to text.
- Another trick to my site, is the use of tables. In almost every
aspect, you will see my table usage. It is so much easier placing
pictures and text where you want if your using them.

Problems and resolutions
Background
I had designed a background to my taste, and brought it in. Yet,
Professor Morgan pointed out how much of my text was lost in the dark
colors. I spent around an hour lightening and trying to keep my color
scheme going. Finally I came to results that were still pleasing to me and
had it light enough to make out text easier on the eyes.
Headings
At first, I had made headings in my paint program, wanting something
pleasing to the eye and a bit decorative. The problem showed up when I
would go from page to page and all the banners would take a moment to
upload. I went on to delete all those headings and replaced them with Arial
heading text.
Another problem was because of my use of tables I had my headings in
slightly different spots on ach page, so I ended up working a bit on
keeping every page similar. This in turn brought about a great look of
fluidity that I think brings together all my pages. |
