Procedure
- Cut 1 fore-arm's length of 16ga wire (1.5 ft approximately).
- Wind 16ga wire around the #10 knitting needle, making sure that the loops of wire are touching eachother and even. Use pliers to straighten and flatten straying loops.
- Slide finished coil off needle.
- Repeat steps 1 through 3 3-4 times with 16ga wire on the #10 needle.
- Repeat once with 18ga wire on the #6 needle.
- Cut links off the coil and open one #10 16ga link with the pliers.
- String 4 closed links onto it and close the open link. Lay set flat, so that the side links are square and the top 2 overlap the next 2 in the same direction.
- Repeat until you have enough for a bracelet. (the standard lengths for bracelets are 6 in, 7 in and so on)
- Connect the 4-in-1 sets with an opened link, so that the connected set overlaps the first set. Close the link. Repeat until you've used all the 4-in-1 sets.
- Connect 2 18ga links to each end of the almost completed bracelet.
- Cut off a 10-12 inch length of 16ga wire. This is for the catch and catch-chain.
- Bend 1 end of the wire around pliers and cut it off the wire.
- String loop onto 2 rings on 1 end of the bracelet and close it.
- Bend a 1/3 in hook in 1 end of the remaining wire. Clamp pliers about 1/3 in from the curve and wrap the wire around the nose of the pliers to form a loop.
- Attach loop on the end of the hook to the other end of the bracelet and close the loop.
- Make a chain of #6 needle 16ga links 1-2 in long, depending on the length of the bracelet. Close all of the links except for the last 1 on both ends.
- Attach 1 end of short chain to the 2 links at each end of the bracelet.
