A Summer in Russia

Last summer, I traveled to Russia with 12 other Americans on a six-week missions trip though InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. After a week of orientation in Moscow, my team members and I took an overnight train to St. Petersburg, where we took part in a cross-cultural, lingual program with nine Russian university students. Besides holding Russian, English, and culture classes, and participating in several field trip and fun activities, each American student lived with a Russian roommate at a hotel for an entire month.

Our mission was to build friendships with our roommates and the other Russian students and to share our lives with them, including our faith in Jesus. Each week, we had a time when we could invite our roommates to sing worship songs and have a Bible study. While in St. Petersburg, we also teamed up with the InterVarsity branch in St. Petersburg called CCX.

Travel with me to Russia on this six-week journey and get a taste of my experience in the former USSR.
