How to Paint Your Fingernails

Lindsey R. Johnson

Many women do not like to paint their fingernails because they think it takes to long. Others do not want to go to the nail salon because it is to expensive. This "How To" is here to show you that painting your nails does not have to be a huge expensive process. Actually, it is one of the easiest things to do. Here is a three step process on how to easily and time efficiently paint your own fingernails.

Step 1:

Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water. As you are drying your hands rub your fingernails and wipe underneath them to remove any dirt that may have collected.

Step 2:

Choose your polish color and begin painting your nails (on both hands) using short even strokes. After first coat has dried, this step may need to be repeated depending on how light or dark you want the color to be.

Step 3:

Using a cotton swab with polish remover on it, gently go along the skin around the nail, removing any excess polish.

Now you have beautifully painted fingernails in just 3 simple steps.

Helpful Hints:

Is some nail polish just to expensive for you? An inexpensive brand of nailpolish that still works great is New York Color. You can buy it for only $ .99!

Are you in a hurry and only have 10 minutes? Try a polish that is quick drying, or use a quickdrying topcoat.

Do you want your polish to stay on longer? Try painting a clear protective coat over the color.

Do your nails turn yellow when you paint them? Put a protective clear coat underneath the color.
