2001

I really got to know baseball this year. I understood the basics before, but now I learned what an ERA meant. What the shortstop really does. The strategy of a batting line up. These things all mean something.

I went to my first game in the Metrodome. I learned how to read a box score. I followed the standings everyday.

The All-Star game came along, and the Twins who were there did a great job. Joe Mays pitched a perfect inning.

Then came the slump. The slump from which we never recovered.

There’s always next year.
