The following section has many images of my art and a brief description of what I was trying to do with this act of creativity. The thumbnails are all linked to a larger image or you can click on "Larger image" to see a close-up of each art piece.

As an artist, I have been doodling and drawing since I was old enough to pick up a crayon. Although I have been doing art for all these years, when I hit my senior year in highschool I found that drawing became more and more difficult with my wrists aching. Years have passed and I miss the medium of pencil, paint and chalk immensely, but found another outlet with my writing and imagination. Larger image |

This Surreal Drawing was made with my favorite medium, colored pencils. I had started out with the Earth and decided that there was an awful lot of space I could utilize with other sorts of textures that I enjoyed dabbling in. As you will see, eyes are a recurring theme that I enjoyed and used in much of my art. Larger image |

Chalk was a favorite of mine, as I could easily blend in colors and have a bit of fun as I got messy at the same time. After a day of working with chalks, my fingers would take on hues from my current art. This is a favorite of mine that depicted a morning sunrise in the heat outside my Texas home, the heat from the land would shimmer and mirror the sky to make a double image that swirled about the unaware livestock and insects. This piece was an interesting project as I was using the black and white pencil along with my colored pencils. The detail in the black/white snake was encumbersome in te slickness of the snakes skin. When I began the colored version in the bottom left, I found that there seemed to be less detailing but an array of brilliant coloring I could play with to give spark to the subject. Larger image |

This drawing was made with charcoal and now hangs in my livigroom in a frame. This has always been my favorite as it brings back the warmth of my favorite cat. She did not sit still very long but I would catch her staring at me as I wiggled my pencil about just enough to get her curiosity. I would then begin throwing in details as she got more and more mezmerized by my attention getter. Larger image |

This is a picture I have hanging on my wall in my bedroom, I was always excited how my tree turned out with all the twists and bumps that gave it a fantastical element, which in turn spawned the idea of the woman butterfly and background. Larger image |

For many years I lived in Texas and was always fascinated with the land. During the long summers of heat and no moisture, the ground would crack open and make dangerous cliffs for the unsuspecting red ants. Yet, throughout the summer, flowers still bloomed against the unforgiving sun and Texas was even more beautiful when life trived against the numerous weather changes. Larger image |

I started out with a piece of glass and began by adding crinkled up aluminum foil, attached it to the back and began painting on the other side of the glass, with the glimmery silver moon created by the foil showing through. The tree on the right and the butterfly were a joy to paint with different colors to add to the basic background of solid colors. Larger image |

I had the idea of using round circles from previous artists we learned from in my advanced art class. This took a long time, but the blending of colors was thrilling as the cat's eye soon took hold of me. Larger image |
